clara bennett left briar in april of her sophomore year to help take care of her mother. after months of forcing dean to deal with her and her problems, she finally broke it off with him in june. now, two weeks into the fall semester, clara reappears in briar. her mom is...kind of better, and everyone else in her life says it's time.

dean di laurentis had been in love with that girl. after a summer of convincing himself that clara was fine with the breakup and he should be, too, it was time to get back to school and focus on what he did best - hockey. however, when he sees clara back on campus, every feeling, every memory, and every care comes right back to him.
