Once every five years or so, our government decides to purge those that they deem “unnecessary” which they determine by administering an unusual set of tests to measure your worth, if they find your worth to be unsatisfactory, then it’s down the anesthesia chute for you. They have always scared me; you are strapped to a hospital bed and they give you anesthesia and then send you down and wake you up just before you are dropped into a large seemingly bottomless pit. Only one person who has gone down has survived to tell the tale. That person was me, and this is where my story begins…
This story follows Lyra Praelis, a girl whose parents were taken away to what everyone calls, The Trials, they never came back leaving Lyra to fend for herself in the most violent sector of her corrupt country, Sector Tene. Then, she herself is sent to the trials.
Will Lyra end up like her parents, dead and forgotten? Or will she face and conquer whatever the government wishes to throw at her?
The road ahead is long and painful for Lyra, how will she survive when so many stronger than her have died?
