Rule number one of the Celestial Domain: Mortals are insignificance. To touch them is a sin. To love them is treason.

Ren Takahashi is just a cynical, chronically exhausted university student pulling a late-night shift at the campus library archives. He handles old, dusty books-not ancient cosmic anomalies. But when a terrifyingly beautiful stranger rips open a tear in space right between the bookshelves, a shattered fragment of divine energy strikes Ren directly in the heart.

That stranger is Erebus, an arrogant, cold-hearted deity of the primordial dark. By celestial law, his existence is absolute, and his disdain for humanity is total. But the freak accident has left his divine core inextricably bound to Ren's fragile human soul.

Now, they are tethered. If they separate by more than a few miles, the energy will tear Ren apart from the inside out and strip Erebus of his immortality. Forced into a cramped apartment together, the friction is instant. Ren is a sarcastic, independent mess who refuses to be controlled; Erebus is a powerful, formal god disgusted by cheap coffee and human vulnerability.

But as lower-tier spirits begin to hunt Ren down for the power sleeping in his chest, the boundaries between them start to blur. Every accidental touch sparks with intoxicating celestial energy. Every lingering glance risks exposure to the high gods who would execute them both.
In a dangerous game of cosmic cat-and-mouse, the greatest threat isn't the executioner's blade-it's the slow, agonizing realization that breaking the ultimate rule feels entirely too divine.
