Everyone knew that Asriel and Dess were best friends. They knew it, the whole town knew it, even if not all of them understood how the punk and the golden boy got along, they did.

That's all that ever mattered to them.
Until they started getting older, and life happened, and naturally, as kids do, they started to drift apart.
Middle school came and went, and now they were freshmen in high school; they were practically strangers again.

Neither of them knew how to change that, so they've become strangers who know far too much about another stranger and have nowhere to put that feeling.

Until one day, the perfect, track-star, golden boy, never without a smile, Asriel Dreemurr, stops smiling when he thinks no one is watching, slowly crumbling from his pedestal.
