The Captain's Shadow

Detective James "Bucky" Barnes is one of the NYPD's best organized crime investigators. He believes in the law because he has seen what happens when powerful men decide rules do not apply to them.

Then a new figure starts tearing through New York's underworld.

The streets call him The Captain.

He targets traffickers, corrupt cops, dirty politicians, and mafia lieutenants who always seem to slip out of handcuffs. He never kills civilians. He never touches children. But criminals end up beaten, exposed, ruined, or dead before Bucky can get them to trial.

Bucky is assigned to bring him down.

The problem is, every clue feels familiar.

The fighting style. The mercy shown in certain moments. The old Brooklyn phrases left behind like ghosts.

Then Bucky sees The Captain unmasked.

And it is Steve Rogers, his former best friend, the man Bucky thought he had lost years ago.

Now Bucky has to choose between the badge on his chest and the boy he once swore he would follow anywhere.
