Charlotte Stone was never the perfect Kook girl everyone thought she was. Sure, she loved the parties, the booze, the summer nights on boats, and the feeling that the world was hers. But while other Kooks were planning their futures, Charlotte preferred to live for the moment.

Sunsets on the beach, music until the wee hours, cigarettes between red-painted fingers, and decisions she regretted the next morning.

On the outside, she seemed carefree. The girl who was always laughing, always showed up at every party, and knew everyone by name. But the few people who truly knew her knew there was much more to her than that smile.

And that's exactly what became a problem when she started spending time with the "wrong" people.
