Red in Pengkalan

"The years between 1946 and 1948 in Malaya moved like a ship in a turbulent sea. In the modest town of Alor Gajah, Melaka - the stories of 'Merdeka' seem to be unheard and forgotten. Red in Pengkalan is a historical fiction that highlights the struggle of the 'ordinary people' in voicing out during the colonial era. This story also tackles the betrayal of the elites, alongside with the tyranny of the British colonial.

It brings us alongside Andika and Kalsom Puteh, both valiant young figures resisting the imperialist British. It also takes us through the lens of Majid, trying to 'survive' amidst the chaos of 'independence'. The voices of the people were suppressed and oppressed leading to the biggest movement of the 'ordinary people' - Hartal Se-Malaya 1947.
