Ashes Of The Infected

The world didn't end with fire. It didn't end with sirens, explosions, or the flash of distant bombs. It ended quietly, beneath clear skies, on a day that should have been ordinary. Sixteen-year-old Alice has spent most of her life fading into the background. While her mother disappears into long hours at a government research facility and the people around her drift through their own lives, Alice notices things others don't. The growing feeling that something is deeply wrong. Then people begin to change. As fear spreads and normal life starts to unravel, Alice finds herself caught between a collapsing world and a truth no one seems willing or able to explain. She realizes the more she approaches the answers that a simple disaster does not explain what is happening. Somewhere beneath the chaos, something is calling. And by the time humanity understands what it has awakened, it may already be too late. Because the apocalypse wasn't the end of the world. It was only the end of ours.
