Office Hours: Hayden Christensen {Part One}

Charlotte Monroe doesn't do relationships.

In fact, she doesnt even believe in love.

Not the kind people write songs and poems about anyway. Sure, she loves her friends, she loves her family. But it just all seems a bit dramatic to her.

Charlotte has always thought that kind of all consuming love was exaggerated. That is was something everyone convinced themselves of because people can't bear to be alone.

She had watched it happen too many times. Friends crying over boys who promised to be loyal. Couples promising eachother things they couldn't possibly mean. Her dad leaving when he was supposed to stay.

It always ended the same way.

Someone always left.

So she learned from an early age that the smartest thing you could ever do was never let yourself get attached in the first place.

Its easier that way.
Cleaner.
More predictable.

And it worked perfectly.

Until she met Hayden Christensen, who has to help her bring her English grade back up in order to graduate.

Hayden Christensen is a shy, awkward Teachers Assistant at a university in Vancouver.

Hayden has absolutely no idea what he's doing when it comes to girls. He's never been in love, never had a serious relationship, and can barely maintain eye contact with Charlotte for more than a few seconds before getting flustered.

Unfortunately for him, Charlotte notices.

And for some reason she can't understand, she finds herself wanting to see just how far she can push him.

Charlotte has spent her entire life believing love isn't real.

Hayden has spent his entire life waiting for it.

Neither of them are prepared for what happens when they finally find it in each other.
