Before Winter Came

Long before the Winter Soldier.

Long before Hydra.

Before the war stole James Buchanan Barnes from himself...

There was a woman hidden within the heart of Brooklyn.

Behind ivy-covered gates and surrounded by a garden that refused to wither stood an estate untouched by time. Its mysterious owner was known only as the Herbalist-a quiet apothecary whose remedies healed those medicine could not and whose gardens bloomed in every season.

Camellia has lived through centuries, watching the world change while she remains exactly the same. She has seen kingdoms rise, wars begin, and the people she loved grow old while time passed her by. So she built herself a peaceful life among flowers, convinced that solitude was kinder than another goodbye.

Then, on an ordinary afternoon, fate places two young men in her path.

One is a stubborn artist with unwavering hope.

The other is a notorious charmer whose effortless smile has won over nearly every young woman in Brooklyn... until he meets the one who seems completely immune to it.

Steve Rogers.

James "Bucky" Barnes.

What begins as a chance meeting soon blossoms into something neither of them expected. As the seasons change and the shadow of war looms over New York, Camellia finds herself daring to love again-despite knowing that history has already written their ending.

Because some flowers bloom only once.

And sometimes...

the most beautiful love stories are the ones that happen before winter came.
