Genesis

... Small metallic clicks sound of at a regular rhythm. "Chink, chink, chink". The beat goes on and on and on, over and over again for billions of years. The clicking never wavers, never stops. Just keeps going. Of course after a while of singular monotonous clicking, the sound goes unnoticed. In fact, the sound has only been heard and noticed by two people. And even they stopped paying attention to it after a few thousand years. On and on and on. The noise seeming to go endlessly through space. The two passengers of the space ship listen, hearing only this noise for billions of years on end. And then it suddenly stops. A few thousand years of this silence slip by. Nothing changing. And then the ship suddenly, in one fluid motion, jumps to life. The silence is replaced by the whirling fans of machines, the buzz of electrical circuits. Preparing for the task they had been set too billions of years before, preparing for the restoration of all that was lost. Preparing for the Genesis.
