Blue.

A color that has always meant too many things.

Peace. Tranquility. The endless sky stretching beyond reach. The sea that cradles and drowns with the same tide. Ice that preserves as easily as it burns. It is the color of silence, of bruises hidden beneath skin, of tears no one notices. The color of melancholy.

To Shoto Todoroki, blue was never just a color. It was an identity.

His left eye. His ice. The winter that lingered beneath his skin. The quiet he mistook for healing. The loneliness he learned to call peace.

For years, his world remained blue.

Then, almost imperceptibly, it began to fade.

Not into darkness-but into gray.

Gray mornings that bled into gray evenings. Gray conversations that sounded distant even when spoken face to face. A life stripped of warmth and meaning until each day felt indistinguishable from the last. The colors around him never disappeared; he simply stopped seeing them. Hope became quieter than the numbness. Living became heavier than surviving.

And yet, despite everything, color has a stubborn way of returning.

Red. Black. Yellow. Pink.

Green.

Some colors arrive like fire, demanding to be acknowledged. Others bloom so gently they go unnoticed until they've already changed the landscape.

This is not a story about being saved.

It is a story about what happens when a boy who has forgotten how to feel begins searching for color again-while standing dangerously close to believing that gray is all the world has left to offer.
