Being transgender is pretty hectic. Especially when you're a fifteen year old lad who comes from a poor family and live in Ireland. Oh and did I mention - I attend an 'all girl' school. Yeah.

Trans Boy
The idea of being sent to a 'straight camp' for the entire summer sounded absurd. Nothing about it made the slightest bit of sense to me. And it looked like any other summer camp; a bunch of uncomfortable-looking teenagers standing with one or both of their parents, people I assumed were in charge talking to them. "What if I'm not one?" I asked, my body wound tight with tension. "One what?" he asked, his voice soft and low. I hesitated. Was I ready? I wanted to tell him so badly. Wanted to scream it from the fucking rooftops. But there would be no going back if I allowed the words to spill out into the world. Telling myself I didn't need someone else's validation, that I knew myself well enough to know with absolute certainty that I was trans was all good and well in principle. But lying here underneath my bed, with my best friend's body pressed so close to mine I could feel his warm breath on my face, I felt those convictions slip through my fingers. Danny's rejection would break me. In a fundamental way. "One what?" he repeated the question, scooting so close to me the tip of his nose brushed mine. Dust motes danced around us, suspended in mid air, teetering on the brink of this momentous feeling wrapping itself around us. I squeezed my eyes shut, pushing down the rush of anxiety trying to drown me. His nose bumped mine again and his breath ghosted over my lips. I opened my eyes and stared unblinkingly into his. 'A girl', I wanted to say, even though I knew the words would taste sour in my mouth, 'what if I'm not a girl?' -------------------------------------- Sean and Danny have been next door neighbours and best friends since they were six years old. So like that says this is a continuation. It's continued from @JaredRossCollins 's account... Dean grew up as a girl, but it all felt so wrong. The hair wasn't his thing, nor was the fleshy mounds all the boys seemed to be obsessed with. He hated having them so much. Between his legs felt so empty, too. Mary told him he was a perfect little girl when he wore the pink dresses and little bows, but he felt awkward with what Mary put him in. John, who wanted a son, was happy to let Dean wear boy's clothes and throw the baseball around. Sure, Sammy came four years later, and he loved Sammy, but Dean was older and easier to play boy games with until Sam got old enough. His parents try really hard to get him to be a girl and after he got into a fight at school he has to go to detention where he meets a boy called Devin. While his own view about himself is challenged, he finds himself touching rock bottom. But Nick is just trying to be accepted as himself, Unapologetically. This is a story written for pride month 2024.
