Maya Roy has exactly three priorities: Stay out of drama (especially university drama), be an emotional support to her little sister, and secure a coveted winter internship at the London Institute of Psychological Sciences, before second semester ended. Falling for someone wasn't part of the list. Falling for Chase Dalton, notorious heartbreaker, heartthrob and a narcissistic guy Maya would rather not get herself involved with, was DEFINITELY not part of the list. After a messy misunderstanding, thanks to Chase himself, he makes an outrageous request to Maya. Fake-date him. Maya of course, refuses. Until she realises Chase would be the perfect lab rat for her research work. And suddenly, pretending to be Chase Dalton's girlfriend didn't seem like a bad idea. On the other hand? Chase begins plotting how he could break through Maya's icy exterior and make her fall for him. The rules are simple. Maya gets her research done. Chase gets his fake relationship and sweet satisfaction at winning his own personal challenge. None of them know about each others' secret little missions. However, neither of them expected the line between pretending, researching, seducing and feeling something real to disappear.

After fleeing her abusive ex in the middle of the night, Chloe Dawson arrives in a small coastal town with nothing but a duffel bag, a crying six-month-old baby, and the last of her savings. She rents a tiny apartment where the walls are paper-thin. Next door lives Sergeant Mason Kane, disciplined, exhausted, emotionally closed off, and currently on leave between military assignments. After years in the army, silence is the only thing that helps him sleep. Then the baby starts crying every night. At first, Mason is irritated. Chloe is terrified of him. Every knock on the door reminds her of the man she escaped.
