In my world, monsters weren't just figments of fiction.
They took countless forms, with some of them living seemingly normal lives, while others left chaos and destruction in their wake.
My dream was clear; to follow in my father's footsteps, fighting against both human and supernatural crimes.

I never imagined I'd end up at the Red Maple Investigation office, or RMI for short. Here, the worst offense was stealing an ice cream truck. As the daughter of a well-known detective, investigation was in my blood; yet, here I was, chasing juveniles who vandalised an elderly man's car.

But everything changed when an unsolved, high-profile serial killer case I was involved in suddenly resurfaced. Now, I was right at the heart of it.
And it only grew more dangerous when a mysterious man entered the scene.
He wasn't just any man. He was a skinwalker, a true monster, who had a newfound fascination with me. To crack this case, I might have to turn his obsession to my advantage.
But I can't trust him, especially when he makes it painfully clear how much he wants to completely captivate me.

There are definitely worse fates than death; A fact I will soon come to realize.
