Freya and Malachi used to be inseparable.

They were best friends for over nine years, growing up side by side through primary school and everything after. But somewhere along the way, things fell apart badly, and now, in Year 11, they act like strangers.

Malachi became popular without even trying. Girls are always around him, but he is not the player everyone assumes he is losing her hit him harder than anyone thinks too. Freya, on the other hand, changed completely after losing him. She became quiet, anxious, and withdrawn, carrying more pain than anyone realised.

Her dad, her only living parent, died.
