Akai and her life long friend are breaking out of prison, and are heading back home, the Leaf Village. Though Akai has never been there, it was where her beloved mother was from. As her mother's last wishes, she will go back to the leaf.
Her friend Zya, who she grew up with is going with her. They go to the Leaf, with the intention of a Bran New Start. But there are people who don't like this, and are going to do anything to get in their way.
