Unspooling Us

Jylian Wright is content. She's achieved her dream of opening her own little shop, and now she lives life on her own terms. Let her friends and family tell it. However, she's in desperate need of something. She doesn't put much stock in that idea until she spills coffee all over a stranger - a man she's sure she has never met before or even seen around their small town. She both dreads and desires seeing him again, but for her, sticking to her shop is so much easier.

Berkeley O'Hara has been a free agent for a while. When he left the family home, he expected things to fall in his favor, but life can sometimes force us into needing a fresh start. He's just back in town, and with his favorite niece's birthday right around the corner, he figures it's as good a time as any to see his family finally. But again, life does what life will do, and he's forced to face his family with coffee-stained pants. At least a pretty girl is the one who did it, he thinks. Though sadly, he knows he'll never see her again.

But Jylian's plan to stay in her lane and Berkeley's plan to get back in good graces with his family all come crashing down when a certain niece needs a beautiful dress for her birthday. The two of them come to realize that their small town is a whole lot smaller than they originally thought - and in more ways than one.
