Jason is a fanatic for all things true crime and unsolved mysteries. Like many in his online communities, he believes he can be an unofficial detective, capable of cracking decades‑old cases-though he never succeeds. There is one particular case he always returns to, the very case that first hooked him, and the only one that continues to haunt him.

One day, without warning or explanation, Jason finds himself transported through time to the scene of that crime-only for a brief moment-before being violently pulled back into his present. It soon becomes clear that he can travel to specific moments connected to these mysteries, glimpsing the past just long enough to uncover the clues that have eluded everyone else.

Realising the possibilities, Jason begins solving long‑cold cases and claiming the reward money for himself, presenting his knowledge as visions and dreams. The scheme works-until the day he provides details about a case that has not yet been made public. Overnight, Jason becomes the main suspect.
