Death Became Her

Victoria crashes into a wall in thick fog on an infamous, avoided street corner. What starts as a car accident turns into body horror fast. She's dragged from the wreck by unseen forces, feels bugs crawling under her skin, and starts mutating. The fog isn't weather - it's sentient, and it uses people as carriers. Turns out Victoria is "the one they've been waiting for," the Queen.

Behind closed doors, a group tries to stop her mutation with injections, but she's changing faster than anyone they've seen. When she opens the doors, the fog gets in and takes human form. That's the breach they feared - now nothing is safe. Her mutation accelerates, skin bubbling, insects pouring from her mouth. They try burning her to stop it. She explodes into pieces, but her death doesn't end it. The fog and bugs spread, and everyone starts mutating. Burying her doesn't help. The legend left on the wall says it all: DEATH BECAME HER. DEATH BECAME THE QUEEN.
