Thestrals are forbidden in her Village they are like dead horses with wings, but they are very much alive, they are misunderstood by people because they are protective. No one knows this but Luna has a  Secret gift, she can talk to Thestrals, but she doesn't know until she meets one. But when Luna is out walking in the woods she meets on in her path.
