This story is about 13 year old Luna Mares. She lives in the Village of Mareum.  She lives with her mother Sarah and father Arthur, and her younger sister Catherine. But Luna has a secret she has a love for Thestrals. Thestrals are forbidden in her Village they are like dead horses with wings, but they are very much alive, they are misunderstood by people because they are protective. No one knows this but Luna has a  Secret gift, she can talk to Thestrals, but she doesn't know until she meets one. But when Luna is out walking in the woods she meets on in her path.
