The warehouse they would one day call home was years in the future. At eighteen, the world was smaller, sharper, and smelled primarily of wet asphalt and industrial smoke.

The district they were in was the "Neutral Zone", a polite word for a place where the law didn't care if you lived or died. It was the kind of place where young Alphas went to prove they were monsters, or where they went to hide because they weren't monsters enough. For Omegas it was down right brutal. For Betas it was scary. However if they were lucky... they survived.
