For you, I Will

Mina Myoui stared out the window of her black sedan as the rain hammered against the glass, tapping her fingers against the window glass. Her driver had pulled over to avoid a flood on the main road, and they were waiting for the downpour to lighten before continuing to her office.

That's when she saw her.

A girl was standing under the awning of a fancy French restaurant across the street - or rather, in the rain, since the awning barely covered half her body. She was completely drenched, her clothes sticking to her skin, and she was staring through the restaurant window with tears streaming down her face.

Mina followed her gaze - inside, a beautiful woman with long blonde hair was sitting at a corner table with a tall, well-dressed man. The woman was laughing, touching the man's hand as he slid a diamond necklace across the table to her. Every so often, she'd look out the window - but her eyes never found the girl standing in the rain.

The girl outside pressed her hand against the glass, her lips moving like she was saying something. Then she closed her eyes, letting the rain wash over her face, and slid down to sit on the wet pavement.

Mina's chest tightened. She'd built her reputation as a cold, distant CEO - someone who never let emotions get in the way of business. But something about this girl's pain hit her hard. Without thinking, she grabbed the umbrella from the backseat and told her driver to wait.

She crossed the street, holding the umbrella over the girl's head. "You'll catch a cold sitting out here."

The girl looked up slowly, her eyes red and swollen but still somehow bright. She gave a faint, sad smile. "I don't really care right now."

Mina froze. She knew those eyes.

"You're... the girl from the Grand Hotel," she said quietly.
