Megan loves parties.

They're loud, colorful, and full of people who never want to leave. There's always music playing somewhere, laughter echoing through the halls, and bright decorations hanging from every corner.

So when the party starts following her everywhere, she doesn't question it.

Not at first.

Everyone else does.

Her friends exchange worried glances when she laughs at jokes nobody told. They fall silent when she starts conversations with people who aren't there. Doctors ask questions she doesn't know how to answer. Family members whisper when they think she can't hear them.

They keep insisting something is wrong.

But how can something be wrong when everything feels so right?

The music is still playing.

The guests are still smiling.

The balloons are still floating overhead.
