My Walking Dead

Inspired by The Walking Dead storyline, I reimagined parts of the story with my character as the lead, stepping into the role of Michonne from the original series. I deeply admire Danai and her portrayal of Michonne. I intended to highlight not only some of the fierce power Danai embodies, but also to reveal more of the character's submissive/gentle side. There is far more conversation between Rick and Talia in my storyline, since my story is more romantic than horror.

I also changed the storyline while keeping some characters, locations, and events. I may have added some aspects to certain characters. I also added a fantasy edge to the story, mixing it in. It's already a fantasy that there are zombies in the first plot, so it's okay for some people to have interesting gifts. *wink*

The character I thought up, I believe, embraces her power and feminine strength in a way that I could see myself and women like me in. With Michonne, I am in love with her strength; how can't I can't see myself in Michonne? I can see myself in Michonne's independence, which some couldn't identify with, which made me think about another character I created in a previous project. Talia's hurting from loss, but has allowed that loss to penetrate her in a way that has made her listen more and opened the door to her gifts.

I also wanted to rewrite parts of the story because I thought it would be interesting to reimagine it. Not everyone may agree with the change; that's that. It's a. It was just a fun project my daughter encouraged me to try. I only touched on the parts of the storyline where I wanted my character to make changes. The entire franchise is a huge undertaking. I would rather focus on the chapter. Talia's character would make changes. I wanted to write fan fiction to explore ideas for the franchises I love and stretch my creative muscles.
