Acedia (SLOTH)

Acedia is an exploration of Sloth, the deadly sin most often misunderstood. While it is commonly defined as laziness, sloth reaches far beyond physical inactivity. It is the quiet surrender of the spirit-the loss of motivation, purpose, and hope. It is the exhaustion that lingers long after the body has rested and the silence that convinces us tomorrow will be no different from today.

Sloth can appear as procrastination, avoidance, or complacency, but it can also manifest as emotional numbness, self-neglect, and the inability to move forward despite desperately wanting to. It is the weight of feeling stuck, watching life pass by while believing you no longer have the strength to reach for it.
Acedia explores the invisible burden of emotional paralysis and the struggle to reclaim purpose in the face of overwhelming emptiness. It asks what happens when surviving becomes easier than living-and whether the smallest step forward is enough to begin again.

Because sometimes the heaviest chains are the ones that convince us not to move at all.
