For centuries, the ultimate testament of a warrior's identity has been their "Blade"-a weapon manifested directly from their own inner soul-power. Now, the grandest event on the continent has arrived: The Trials. The elite delegates from every corner of the realm have gathered at the central stadium to prove their supremacy.

Representing the hot-blooded Southern Steppes, Archimedes and the fierce "Sword Angel" Lumia fight with the volatile intensity of raging fire and blinding light. From the serene, lush, and vast Eastern Lands, the brilliant "Student Council Chief" Hakuto and his timid secretary Kumino wield swift, phantom-like precision. And from beyond the layers of permafrost to the Northern Tundra, the ancient, enigmatic noble Venia commands an unyielding frost that has held strong for over centuries.

But as the roaring crowds cheer for spectacular duels of identity and magical prowess, an ominous shadow creeps over the arena.

The Western Chancellery of the has sent their own delegates-members of the ruthless, secretive "Roundtable." The smiling, sociopathic Wiese ("The Raven") and the mysterious, soul-less Xerxes ("The Scourge"), the West isn't playing by the rules of the tournament. They have entered the capital with a hidden agenda, and a motive yet to be discovered.

When the tournament turns into a hunting ground, rival academies must decide whether to fight each other for glory-or unite to survive what is coming.

Because even mountains can fall when the world begins to burn.
