But beneath my mask of sweetness and endless cheering is a cold weight of iron, and thoughts darker than anyone should dare speak aloud. I love him. I hate him. I want to save him. I want to bury him.
Years pass through UA and into our pro-hero careers. He loses his quirk, the very thing I thought made him untouchable-and somehow climbs even higher. Still celebrated. Still ascending. While I remain invisible, suffocating in his light.
There's only one way I finally get to breathe.
