Awaken the Rested

Upon this rotting land walks the dead. The apocalypse began six years ago when all was alive and well. Six years ago was something that many who continue to survive cannot recall. Now, such a time then would be seen as fiction due to the beauties that were seen. No longer were parents coddling their children or dogs running about in parks. No longer did work fill the minds of many office workers. No longer did children attend school with solemn gazes. The undead replaced such scenarios in gruesome ways. There was no title to pin them and name them as a person, just a zombie. An undead. A corpse. Though, they did not have the wisdom to care about such titles. They merely roamed the streets searching for something that will make them whole. The consumption of man thrived amongst the lands, and no individual could escape the claws of such beings. Perhaps only a handful can escape through the cracks of those claws.

Six, a girl of nine, found herself stuck within such a scenario those six years ago at age three. Her father "didn't have what it takes" to survive, so he cut his survival short when she was four. She is different though. This land is not made for her.

Mono, a boy of nine, found himself surviving the lands with no thought in mind. His single-minded nature kept him moving for as long as possible. He cannot remember what started the apocalypse or how he ended up where he is. It all starts somewhere, sometimes.
