"I know those relatives of yours could have given you some poison to come and kill us," she had said as she dumped all my clothes on the floor. I just thanked God I had kept the secret phone inside the biker shorts I was wearing. She emptied my bag, and when she was done, she threw it at my feet. I stood there rooted to the floor, wondering if this was really the same woman who had raised me with so much love. "Get your rags out of my face," she said angrily. Picking my things up, I fled to my room. "The house has not been cleaned since you left! Get your lazy ass busy!" I heard her order from the corridor. Does Hadijja survive the cruelty ?

  • The Sister They Left Behind

They said she didn't try. They said she chose herself. They said she was the reason their parents died. So they threw her out... like she never belonged. Three years ago, Meher lost everything in a single night-her parents, her home, and the only people she ever called her world... her brothers. Meher was the last person who saw them alive. She promised to save them. But she failed. And they believed she never tried. But what if the story they believed... was never the truth? When fate brings her back into their lives at a wedding that was never meant to reunite them, old wounds begin to bleed again, truths start to surface, and hearts that once loved... begin to shatter all over again. Because sometimes, the one you hate the most...is the one you never stopped loving. And sometimes, the biggest misunderstanding... costs you everything.
