Alya has spent most of her life believing that getting attached to someone means, sooner or later, losing them. Gifted with a mysterious Devil Fruit that allows her impossibly long hair to heal others-while transferring their pain onto her-she escapes the life that was forced upon her and eventually crosses paths with the Straw Hat Pirates.

What was supposed to be nothing more than a chance encounter soon becomes a new family, a new dream, and, most unexpectedly, a connection with Roronoa Zoro. Between adventures, bickering, danger, and feelings neither of them is willing to admit, becoming part of the Straw Hats only makes everything more complicated.

For the first time, Alya finds herself surrounded by people who expect nothing from her in return and somehow begin to see her as one of their own. And as her relationship with Zoro turns into something entirely new, Alya must finally face the choice she has avoided her whole life: keep living without ever allowing herself to truly care about anyone, or finally let herself grow attached to the crew-even if it means accepting the risk of one day losing them.
