Cold Hands Warm Heart ((An MCU X-Men Fanfic))

Born with the X-Gene, Sonya's powers began manifesting around age five. What started as strange incidents quickly escalated into impossible ones. She could lift objects no child should be able to move. She could fly. And when frightened or upset, destructive beams of energy erupted from her eyes.

Her parents, John and Stephanie Emerson, were terrified.

Instead of helping her, they abandoned her.

Charles Xavier found Sonya shortly afterward and offered her something she'd never truly had before: A home.

Charles never wanted mutants to exist solely as weapons.

He encouraged every student to pursue education, careers, and lives outside of heroics. Sunny embraced that philosophy wholeheartedly.

While training alongside the X-Men, she also attended college courses and eventually earned the certifications needed to become a Flight Paramedic.

Charles often told her:

"The world needs heroes, Sonya. But sometimes it needs healers even more."

Those words stayed with her. She became one of the Institute's most promising young X-Men and eventually adopted the codename:

Solstice: A symbol of light, hope, and endurance.

Unlike many mutants, Sunny eventually chose to step away from full-time X-Men duties. Not because she stopped believing in Xavier's dream.

Because she wanted to prove that mutants deserved ordinary lives too.

She moved to New York City. Found a small apartment. Got a job as a Flight Medic.

Started building a life. A real one. Of course, "normal" for Sunny still meant occasionally flying into burning buildings.

And when the X-Men called?

She always answered.

Always.
