Now twenty-nine years old, Chris is a ghost of his former self. Struggling with severe, chronic PTSD, intense social anxiety, and a crushing weight of survivor's guilt, he has finally reached his breaking point. His coping mechanisms are wearing thin, and he can't keep running from the nightmares that haunt his waking hours. To find answers-and to face the guilt that has been eating him alive-Chris has to go back to the source of his trauma.

Navigating the decaying facility is a psychological warzone for a former employee. Every rusted corridor and empty desk triggers a suffocating wave of muscle memory. Chris isn't just fighting the terrifying, monstrous entities hunting him from the shadows; he is fighting his own mind. His self-sacrificing nature means he'll do anything to protect the secrets of those who didn't make it out, even if it means showing a total lack of self-preservation.
As Chris forces himself deeper into the dark, the journey shifts from a simple search for closure into a grueling test of survival. Cryptic, bloody messages painted on the walls scream at him to turn back, while deeply repressed memories of his own childhood begin to resurface. The further he goes, the more he realizes the company's dark experiments were intimately tied to his own past-and that some monsters have been waiting a very long time for him to return... Finally able to claim its perfect candidate?
