"What do you mean teach you?" I murmured. I wasn't stupid. I mean, I had a few ideas as to what he meant, but I couldn't believe the words coming out of his mouth at that time.

His jaw clenched slightly-shit that was hot-and his gaze averted. "When you told me to touch myself that night, I couldn't..." he closed his eyes, taking a breath, composing himself. "I couldn't take it anymore. I did it, and I've done it again and again, and I can't help but wonder, Angel, what else I can do to make it better." His voice was low and raspy, like it almost hurt to say this out loud, but he had to. "So, I mean, teach me. Show me more." There was this finality in his voice like he wasn't asking anymore, but rather demanding.

"Stick to the rules and you'll be fine."

That's the advice Angel's cousin had given her on her first day at Grace Christian Prep. But Angel has never been good at following orders, especially not after her entire world collapsed before her.

Following the sudden passing of her mother, Angel is thrown into a world of flawless facades, rigid church pews, and strict dress codes. Everything she'd ever avoided. As she tries to settle in without completely breaking, she meets Simon.

He's the golden boy-the pristine choir captain, the rule-follower, the epitome of everything Angel despises. Simon lives by the rules; Angel lives to break them.

Angel tries to ignore his presence, but once Simon is tasked with tutoring and showing Angel the ways of Grace Christian Prep, she takes on a task of her own; get under his skin.
