However, Eitan and I clearly weren't.
It was obvious to everyone but me when I passed my wizardry exam and Eitan popped up as my familiar. My ever abiding companion. The animal spirit that would look after, care for, fight alongside and love me until I drew my last breath.
How was I supposed to know that the boy I had met at the adoption center all those years ago wasn't actually a familiar? How was I supposed to know that he was one of the most dangerous, barbaric creatures on Earth?
Someone should have told me that werewolves don't make good pets.
