Rupert was done with his mothers ill advised plans for him. He wanted to live his life, regardless of no sure path, and to do that, he packs up with the ruse that he is just visiting his father overseas for the week. His father lives in a quiet costal town in Oregon, and that was far enough away from his pushy mother in London to give him peace of mind. He’d avoided her college plans for him by touring Europe for a year, but then she’d started throwing debutants at him from every angle. If she couldn’t get him into the college she wanted, she’d be more than happy to make him settle down with the girl of her choice. So to escape the nightmare of being stuck to some random girl, he heads to Portara, and meets a young woman that has him rethinking all the plans he’d never made.
