Fenora has done something she shouldn't have and now the king's men are hunting her down. In the space of a few moments her life has been turned upside down and now she finds herself without a home and embarking on a journey the god Anubis has set her on. For she is the Chosen One and she needs to understand the strange powers that are stirring within her, while learning what love is.
Netos has hated the Chosen One he has sworn an Oath to protect. And now he finds himself bound to her, while he needs to try and keep his own past a secret and unveil the lies of those around him. To achieve all this he needs to keep his head clear, something that is proving more and more difficult the closer he gets to Fenora.
A journey across the sea, to the cursed ruins of the City of Shadows, where darkness is waiting around every corner, will bring them closer to the Bond, but at what cost?
