It is said that everyone who belongs at Hogwarts will be led there, eventually. Some children of wizards and witches were never able to go to Hogwarts, or any other wizarding education units for that matter. Some lost their parents due to the First Wizarding War, and due to it, ended up in the Muggle system for orphans. They got lost.

Y/N L/N is one of the unfortunate few who got lost in the system. But one day, the Ministry of Magic implemented legislation which forced these lost souls from the war to be found again, to finally be reunited with their heritage and full potential. Even the ones who were lost for too long. Hogwarts opened its doors with a special unit for older students who had to learn magic from scratch. Y/N L/N was part of this first wave of students. And so at 20 years old, she arrived at the school for Witchcraft and Wizardry for the first time.
