The initial motivation for an intimacy seeking stalker is to establish an emotional connection with the victim. Sometimes they're fueled by the belief that a relationship already exists.

Therefore, it's not really stalking. Making sure you get home safe and taking an interest in the things you like is just the result of yearning and looking out for you.
