In Spite of it All

Back in the seventies, Jack Walter once had the perfect life. He was in a long-term relationship with one of the richest born-vampires in America, Matthew St. Clair, had his dream job as a chemist, and was on the brink of a breakthrough in his research on developing synthetic blood for transfusions. On one unfortunate night, however, he loses everything. Attacked by a vampire and left to die, Jack turns into the one thing Matthew, along with the rest of the world, could never accept: a turned-vampire. Known for being feral, lawless, and bloodthirsty, Jack is forced to fake his death and go into hiding to avoid persecution. While in hiding, he finalizes the formula for synthetic blood fit for vampiric consumption, allowing another man to take the credit in order to maintain anonymity. Decades later, Jack is in hiding when he gets unfortunate news-the true inventor of synthetic blood is about to be revealed, forcing him into the limelight and reconciling with his lost love.
