Yesterday's Dream
History remembers the names of heroes, revolutionaries, and writers who fought for a nation's freedom. But what about the ordinary Filipinos whose sacrifices, struggles, and dreams were never written in the pages of history?
Elia Marie Tomas, a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Literature student from the modern world, always dreamed of writing a story that could inspire people and remind them to appreciate the lives of those who came before them.
But on New Year's Eve, a mysterious turn of fate sends her back to the Philippines in 1895- years before the revolution begins.
Lost in a world far from her own, Elia meets Rafael Robles, a law student from the University of Santo Tomas and the son of a respected merchant family. As she uncovers the forgotten stories of farmers, fishermen, teachers, healers, and ordinary Filipinos who quietly dreamed of freedom, she realizes that the greatest story she could ever write is not one she has to create. It is one she has to live.
In her search for the truth, Elia will journey to the land of her ancestors, discover the roots of her own identity, and find a love she never expected in a time she was never meant to belong.
She came from the future to write the stories history forgot.
