If you had told Dean Sebastian Kendrick Heyward-Di Laurentis that his first-and only girlfriend, well ex-girlfriend would be at a Briar University party making it the first time he'd seen her in three years, he would've laughed in your face. If you had told Brielle Genevieve Celeste Maxwell that she'd transfer to Briar University her junior year of college, she would've thought you were crazy. If you had told her she'd see her first and only love at a college party, she would've looked at you like you'd lost your mind. So if they both thought that these things were insane, why were they staring at each other across a party with a million unsaid words between them.

"dream, baby we'll wake up in the next life" Anastasia Coast is the unluckiest person when it comes to love. Always giving her all and getting nothing at all in return. She's stuck in a situationship from hell, swearing up and down to her friends that 'she's fine!' and 'she's right where she wants to be!' She's not. She's settling for a boy who couldn't care less if she lived or died, who, despite claiming that he 'really liked her and actually wanted something real with her!', was okay with disappearing without a trace for days. No text, no call, no sign of life. She wants stability. Someone who will choose her despite all odds, someone who will see her as a person and show up at her gigs, cheering her on and inspiring her to write less-depressive songs. Someone who will stay when she bares her soul. Dean Di Laurentis has never known love. Self-proclaimed "rollercoaster," if he were a Ken doll that came with a catchy catchphrase, it would be "here for a good time, not a long time!" But he'd be damned if he hadn't had sleepless nights, wondering 'what would it be like?' What would it be like to have his own person? Someone who, at any point, is in his corner. To know that when the taped-up tip of his stick hits the heavy puck past the goalie and into the net, the buzzer going off, there's someone in the stands who is there just for him. Sure, the puckbunnies that travel to the games are fine, but deep down, they'll never give him what he truly wants. Stability, support, and love. But for now, they'll suffice. Still, the girl with long black hair and shiny silver jewelry, belting out the national anthem at every home game and getting everyone out of their seats at Malone's with, in his opinion, an inhumanly beautiful voice, lives in his mind rent-free. "sweat-soaked, breathless underneath the moonlight"
