Shane is a university student studying sports management in the small town of Dish, BC, moved in with his dad Charlie after a hockey career that ended abruptly before he even made it to the league. After witnessing a Russian stranger perform a supernatural feat of athleticism at the university ice arena, his repressed sexuality, his complicated feelings for hockey and rising danger of mysterious gristly murders happening around the small town, come to a head.

Ilya has come to the same small town after going through a mysterious experimental procedure that reverses an injury that ended his hockey career before he began. He's fairly certain that the experimental procedure is vampirism, and he's in too deep now to run away from his problems. One of his problems being that he cannot stop thinking about a short fucking hockey player with freckles that he met on accident after breaking into the university ice arena.
