When a young transgender CNA begins working the night shift at a rural South Dakota nursing home, she uncovers an ancient evil feeding on the elderly, forcing her to embrace the forbidden magic of her bloodline before the creature drinks the years from everyone she loves.

Night shift is supposed to be quiet.

For April, a twenty-three-year-old CNA trying to outrun grief, it is a chance to start over in the forgotten farming town of Redfield, South Dakota. The residents are lonely, the hallways never seem to sleep, and one woman with dementia keeps insisting that something walks the corridors after dark.

Then a nurse disappears.

Patients begin dying in impossible ways.

The crops surrounding town wither as though time itself is being stolen.
