Est spent eight years in a relationship he never entered out of love. After rejecting Earn's confession, he watched Earn become self-destructive and, out of guilt and fear, agreed to date him.

Throughout those years, Est never once said "I love you." Earn's affection made him uncomfortable, and their relationship became an endless cycle of talking for a few months, breaking contact for months at a time, and trying again. Every time Est considered ending things, unfortunate events followed, leaving him convinced it was karma and making him too afraid to leave.

At twenty-five, during his final year of college, Est finally broke up with Earn. Instead of feeling free, he was overwhelmed by loneliness. His family didn't understand him, his friends were absorbed in their own lives, and with exams approaching, he felt completely alone.

One day, while listening to music, he stumbled upon the songs of a singer named William. William's voice and lyrics touched something deep within him, making him cry in a way nothing else had. Est began posting about William's songs on Twitter after every listen, until one day he received an unexpected direct message from William himself:

"I don't think my songs are that sad... but somehow you manage to make every one of them heartbreaking."

That simple message marked the beginning of a connection that would change both of their lives.
