One More Direction: Through The Dark

The house was quiet in a way Leon knew wouldn't last.

Morning light crept through the curtains, soft and pale, settling over the living room like a blanket. Everyone else was still asleep. No Louis yelling. No Harry humming. No Zayn complaining. No Liam making breakfast. Just silence.

Leon woke first.

He sat up slowly, careful not to disturb Niall curled beside him, breathing softly, hair messy against the pillow. For a moment, Leon just watched him, the calm, the warmth, the safety.

Tomorrow, rehearsals would begin.
Tomorrow, the noise would return.
Tomorrow, the year would start for real.

Leon slipped out of bed and stood by the window. The world outside looked still, untouched. He wasn't scared, but something inside him felt... aware. Aware that this quiet was temporary. Aware that 2013 would be loud, fast, overwhelming.

Behind him, Niall stirred.

"Leon?" he whispered.

Leon turned. "Morning."

Niall blinked at him, sleepy and soft. "You okay?"

Leon nodded. "Just thinking."

Niall reached out a hand. Leon took it instantly.

"You don't have to face this alone," Niall murmured.

Leon breathed out slowly. "I know."

They sat together in the quiet, holding onto the last calm moment before everything changed.

Tomorrow, the dark would begin.
But today, they had the light.

And Leon held onto it.
