Every summer, Cedar Park opens its gates. Not everyone goes back home.

Nico never meant to spend his summer in the shores of Lake Raven and its forests. After leaving Madrid behind, working as a camp counselor seems like the perfect escape from everything he's trying to avoid.

But Cedar Park has rules no one cares to explain.

Avoid certain trails at certain hours, ignore the treeline after dark, don't ask if you don't know.

Every few years, someone vanishes, yet everyone moves on quicker than they should.

Then Nico meets Archie, one of the "homegrowns", and that's when he realizes that the closer they become, the stranger Cedar Park grows. Nights become longer and darker, the woods start whispering names, and every answer or explanation leads to another question.

Miles away, a young reporter chasing a decades-old string if disappearances uncovers the same destination again and again.
