Adrian was running again. From both sides of the path he could feel the heat of the burning rock, and with each step he could see that he was just out of tech of the hands that tried to grab his feet. If he slowed down or lost his footing then they would have him. Fear gripped his heart with every footfall as he dared no to look behind him in order to see what was coming. Then it happened. Adrian tripped and fell. He screamed as unseen hands clamped around his legs and began to pull him down, as he looked up through a blurred vision caused by heat and sweat he could just make out someone walking towards him, and with one final scream, Adrian woke up.

She runs as fast as she can, dropping her previously important cargo in her desperation to get the river. She know she can't out run him for long, but she has to get her family's scent off her. She knows that he could hunt down her family because she dared to love another. She'd seen the horrors of those found to be like her, in love with another. She knew she wouldn't be able to live with herself if the monster chasing her hurt her family. The river comes into view when a bone curling growl sounds throughout the forest, shaking the trees. A few more seconds she thinks to herself, almost there. At the last step she jumps, flinging herself into the water. Frantically she scrapes at her skin to get their scents off, but knowing she can't be caught de-scenting she starting swimming down stream. Better to be caught running than them thinking you have something to hide.
