Gipahinumdoman niya ang mga magtutuo nga ang tinuod nga kalipay dili gikan sa maayong kahimtang sa kinabuhi, kondili gikan sa ilang relasyon kang Jesu-Cristo.
Sa pagbasa sa Filipos, atong makita ang kahinungdanon sa pagpabiling malipayon bisan sa mga pagsulay, pagkinabuhi nga mapainubsanon sama kang Cristo, pagkahiusa isip usa ka pamilya sa Ginoo, ug pagsalig sa Dios imbis nga mabalaka.
