The Porch Light

For eighteen months, Helen Bennett has refused to speak about her daughter in the past tense.

Maya is missing.

Not dead.

Missing.

So Helen keeps Maya's phone active. She leaves her bedroom untouched. She follows every sighting, answers every unknown number, and switches on the porch light before sunset so her daughter will always know where home is.
